V2 ROLLER SKIS ..... for Champions & Beginners

The largest selection of roller skis in the world: one reason why so many skiers use V2 is the great choice of models. V2 has roller skis for smooth surfaces as well as for rough pavement and hard packed dirt roads. And, only V2 has patented variable resistance speed reducing systems. Although V2 is the choice of many World Cup skiers, V2 has roller skis so stable that they can be used by people who have never skied before.

V2 ATR 150XC

The lever actuated system is available for the 150, 125, 105 and 9000 models. The optional ATR speed control system incorporates all of the features used on the smaller wheel 800 and 900 series, but the system on the Aero is more effective. For the Aero 150, the system has one neutral position and 4 resistance settings. The 125 has 3 resistance positions and the 105 and 9000 have 2 resistance positions. The ATR functions equally well in both dry and wet conditions.

The ATR system is made from Aluminium, stainless steel and nylon. The large black anodised aluminium lever is easy to grab and pivots on stainless steel pins. Nylon rollers and washers are used to reduce the noise generated by vibration from skiing on rough surfaces. Almost all Aero skis are sold with the speed reducer system.

A. XL 125S

With a brand new rim and a reinforced tube, the very popular 125SR has been elevated from a very good ski to a great ski. The new design substantially reduces the possibility of a flat tyre while skiing.

A gasket seals the rims and large “O” rings seal the tyre to the rim. If the tube fails, the air will generally escape very slowly allowing the skier to continue skiing until a new tube is installed.

The 125SRX weighs about 200g less than the 150S and many skiers feel the 125SRX is easier to balance on. We do not recommend the 125SRX for skiers that weigh over 180lbs (82Kg), but many heavier skiers with good technique have had no problems. If you want a more durable ski, consider the much larger wheeled 150S.

B. XL 150S

The original Aero with large 150mm wheels that can cover terrain impossible with any other skate ski. Ideal for hard packed dirt roads and exceptionally smooth on pavement. If your technique falters, the ski will let you know and when you are skiing correctly it’s like being on snow.

This was Phil Shaw's favourite roller ski for his adventures around the world.

Brakes and fenders available as options.

C. Aero 150SC

This popular combi ski is similar to the 150S, but has a longer shaft and a ratchet clutch in the front wheel so the ski only rolls forward. With outriggers mounted on the outside, the ski can be used for both classic and skating. In order to ski classic without the outriggers, the skier must have exceptional stability and balance.

Aero Outrigger

The outriggers improve the stability of the Aero Combi 150SC. The aero wheels provide a smooth ride while the outrigger provides stability. Only very skilled skiers can classic on the Aero 150SC without outriggers. Generally only one outrigger is required, mounted on the outside of the ski. Two can be mounted for greater stability.

As the skill level increases, the outriggers can be rotated away from the ground so they provide stability only when the ski is substantially tipped. When the skill level has increased sufficiently, the outriggers can be removed.

Universal Brake

The 3rd generation brake is lighter and stronger with vertical as well as horizontal and angular adjustments. The brake fits all new V2 roller skis. The brake can be adjusted to fit almost any binding position and shoe size. The brake folds over the binding when not in use and when the brake is raised, a spring loaded plunger engages the brake so it can only be moved backwards for braking. A high-tension spring keeps the brake in position.

When adjusted properly, the brake does not touch the leg until you adopt the braking position. When initially adjusting the brake, use the “macro” adjustment. When you have found the best location, install the safety screw. Any additional changes can be made with the upper “micro” adjustment. When braking, the brake foot is pushed forward of the other foot by about 0.45 metres (18”) and then you simply push the knee back. This Telemark braking position is also the most stable position for braking as the forward leg acts like a brace and keeps you from falling forward as you decelerate.

V2 Skis for both Paved and Non-Paved Surfaces

The Aero skis have revolutionised roller skiing by being able to navigate terrain impossible with conventional roller skis. With pneumatic tyres, the Aero are the smoothest riding roller skis on the planet. Many coaches and skiers consider the Aero the closest to skiiing on snow and with speed reducers and brakes, the safest skis available.
